Attention Deficient Disorder
There are two distinct types of Attention Deficit Disorder. The main symptom in both types is difficulty sustaining attention, particularly for learning tasks.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder – This is the most commonly recognised type of ADHD. Someone with ADHD has a short attention span, high levels of distractibility and impulsivity. Some people are also hyperactive.
Attention Deficit Disorder (Predominately Inattentive Presentation) – If you, or your child, have ever been described as a “daydreamer”, they may have this type of Attention Deficit Disorder. Those with this disorder are not impulsive or hyperactive but they have difficulty maintaining their attention for learning and can be easily distracted.
