Poor Working Memory

Working memory is where we need to hold information in our mind and do something with that information. For example in mental arithmetic, in understanding what we read, the child has to listen to or read the information, hold it in their mind and do something with that remembered information – to come up with an answer or understand the information.

An indication that you or your child are suffering from poor working memory may be exhibited through the need to re-read text, having difficulty following multi-step directions, or difficulty staying engaged in class.

Improving working memory is a focus of Fast ForWord. Symptoms may be reduced after a few months of using Fast ForWord.
